Tough day!
Today was probably one of the hardest days I think I have had in a really long time. It was the ending to a very sad and tragic event that happened last Tuesday night. Kim,Butler, lil Butler, and Emily Smith were killed in an accident while going to Kim's mother's house for vacation. The only thing that gives me a measure of comfort is that I know without a shadow of a doubt that they are in heaven knowing that they are truly missed but rejoicing with family gone on before them. As we got to the cemetery, it was like a family reunion of sorts for me. Way too many of my relatives are buried there in ruleville. I, too, rest in knowing that all the loved ones gone on before me will be rejoicing when we meet again. I am in no rush to go but fully know where I will be. Well, I need to get some rest. Write more later on.

Two days off work!
Sweet Southern Magnolia
After an exhausting two days of work, I'm off for today and tomorrow. I always plan way too much to do on my days off and never get half of what I've planned done. I did stick to the schedule today and accomplished more than usual. I'll go back to Wister Gardens in the morning to see what paperwork needs to be done and try to update the website as much as possible. The worst part of the website work is resizing photos to fit on the website. Luckily, I found a program today that will do all that work for me. That was an AhHah moment.
Anyway, I'm cooking taco salad or rather browning the hamburger meat for the taco salad. Thankfully, it is so hot that it kinda messes with your appetite. Well, gonna go check the meat before it's too done. Boring life.. but grateful for the life I have!

Monday again!
Jenna - 6/15/09 - Wister Gardens

It seems as though when I have a weekend off, I can never get my act together. What should be an unlimited amount of time to get things done never materalizes. Either I'm just plain worn out and tired or just got a bad case of lazy tail. I guess I could blame the stress of work on my exhaustion but I think it goes deeper than that. Oh well, I'll just have to plan what I will do when I have time off. In the meantime, I'll keep doing things a little at a time like I have been.
Today, I took Jenna out to Wister Gardens and took her annual "cheer" photo. Each year, we try to take a photo of her in one of the uniforms for the next school year. This was a little different in that we planned to take several outfits and take some different photos. I personally think that they could be used for modeling poses. But of course, I am very partial to my youngest child being so beautiful. I'm posting a few on here for comments.

Today @ Wister Gardens
One of the thousands of daylilies at the Gardens.
New additions to the Wister Gardens family.... Six white ducks.. Duck & Duck are in the foreground of the photo.. Not too keen on the new company.
The sun was setting last Friday evening as I took this photo of the entrance to the Gardens.
More daylillies over by the lake area.
One of my favorite places to go.. The gazebo..
Another day off work before heading back again on Thursday and I spent the day at Wister Gardens. I am the secretary / web page "master" for the Gardens. I wish I could spend every day there. It is such a wonderful place to go to relax and feel like you are getting away from the world. Who would have dreamed that there could be an "oasis" such as this in the middle of the Delta? Well, the answer to that would be Mr. Wister Henry and his wife, Mrs. Frances Chiles Henry. You must go visit the website"hint" and sign the guestbook "HINT" to give us your opinion of what you think of the Gardens. Lynn really does a fantastic job keeping the place up and pours her heart and soul into it. You only have to try and keep up with her ONE day there and you'll see what I mean.
Today, Mr. Norman Winter "Southern Gardening" TV show host was there with a film crew to put together footage of the Gardens. I'm so excited that thousands of people will get a glimpse at the Gardens thru the eyes of the camera lens. Lynn has really brought the place into the spotlight with all her hard work. Next week, Farm Bureau magazine will be there to also do a photo shoot. Then on the 22nd, Mississippi magazine will be there to take photos for their 2010 March /April issue which will feature the Gardens. As I said, I'm so excited that others will find be able to learn about the Gardens and come visit. I'm posting a few photos that were taken recently of the daylillies, new additions to the Gardens (ducks), and Mr. Winter with crew filming. Hopefully I can also add some photos that were taken around sunset last Friday. Enjoy taking a peek at the Gardens with the photos.

Good Friday afternoon!
It's been a busy day around the house for me. I have managed to clean my room (almost) and also spray the house for mosquitos, etc. I'm so tired of fighting the beetle bugs while trying to get inside late at night after work.
We're ready for Josh to get back home from his cruise. It's been way to quiet around here since Josh left to go on the cruise and school is out. Jenna has gone to Greenville for the weekend. Who knew that my "empty" nest syndrome would start so early?? I surely didn't plan on it. Well, I have to get ready shortly for Chris' graduation tonight from Riverside. Taylor is also graduating too. What to wear?? LOL..
